The youth band has performed concerts at some of the finest concert halls in the country including, The Sage Centre (Gateshead), Bridgewater Hall (Manchester), Symphony Hall (Birmingham), The Royal Northern College of Music (Manchester) and Opera House (Blackpool). The band also performs regularly at Halifax Minster, Huddersfield Town Hall and other local churches and concert halls. In 2004 the band recorded produced its first CD Recording, "And All That Jazz". Since then the band has also produced other CDs - "Harlequin" and "Breezin Down Broadway". In April 2010, the band became the National Intermediate Brass Band Champions, having previously been National Junior Champions in 2007.

2010 was the most successful in the bands history, becoming Action Research Entertainment Champions and National Youth Intermediate Brass Band Champions. In total the band was awarded some seventeen trophies and was invited to perform at the Great Brass Arts Festival, Bridgewater Hall and at the Brass In Concert Entertainment Championships at the Sage, Gateshead.

The band is now nationally regarded as one of the finest youth bands in the country.

The youth band has approximately 30 members. We also have a Training band with and a beginner's class. We are always on the look out for new members whether they are complete beginners or more advanced. We provide children with an instrument, tuition and any music required. Whatever your standard we have a place for you.

The youth band forms part of the Elland Silver Band organisation, which celebrated its 150^th anniversary in 1999. Several players from the youth band are also now members of the Elland Silver Band and other bands across West Yorkshire.
